Frequently asked questions
The NEW Kennel Club Healthcare Plan features comprehensive,
lifelong veterinary fees cover.
The plan is designed to offer you a simple, straightforward
choice of cover and benefits that you can tailor for you and your
dog.
Here are the answers to a few of the most common questions we
are asked.
What happens if my dog needs
on-going treatment for a long-term condition?
The Kennel Club Healthcare Plan is designed to offer lifetime
cover for your dog. Some pet insurance policies restrict the
amount of money you can claim for each illness or injury. Over time
a chronic condition such as eczema, arthritis or diabetes may
exhaust this benefit leaving further vet's bills to you. Other
policies limit your cover for chronic conditions to just 12 months,
after which further claims are also excluded.
When you renew your Kennel Club Healthcare Plan, your full
veterinary fees cover renews as well. So there will be money
available to help pay your vet's bills throughout your dog's
life.
What if my dog were to die from
illness or an accident?
Nothing can replace a much loved dog, but if the worst was to
happen and you've selected the death cover benefit, we will pay you
the purchase price up to £2,500.
Death from illness however will only be covered up to the
maximum age specified on your schedule of insurance. If you are
unsure about this please call 0800 369 90 90.
How do I know what cover I will
need?
The new Kennel Club Healthcare Plan has been designed to offer you
choice. With some benefits like overseas travel, the decision is
easy - you either intend to travel overseas with your dog or
not.
Other benefits really depend on your lifestyle and
preferences.
For example, many owners are keen to have the purchase price
refunded if their dog sadly dies. For others, no amount of money
can replace their pet and the benefit is not needed.
Benefits like breeding cover can be added later when you have
decided whether to breed or not.
Core benefits like veterinary fees, third party liability and
help to find a lost or stolen dog are included with every policy -
simply because we feel insurance should be about keeping your dog
as healthy as possible and with you for as long as possible.
Plus no dog owner should be without third party liability cover
in this litigious day and age.
Can you help if my dog goes
missing?

including offering a reward of up to £250.

your dog up to £2,500.

ill to look after my dog?

than 4 days, we will help you with boarding kennel fees or the cost
of temporary care.

is not found?
