Following this year’s donation at Crufts for £88,412, the total amount donated to date to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust by Agria stands at over £900,000!
The KCCT is an incredible organisation that supports specially selected projects with charitable funding. These projects sit under three main areas:
- Science & Research – the funding of innovative projects into inherited diseases in dogs, and other health problems, plus bursaries to the BVNA
- Support & Training – the sponsorship of assistance dogs, including those from Dogs for Good, Support Dogs and Medical Detection Dogs
- Welfare & Rescue – support for rescue and rehoming charities, emergency welfare and help for stray, abused or neglected dogs - this year, including support to dogs in Ukraine.
Managing Director of Agria Pet Insurance, Vicki Wentworth, says, “Supporting the KCCT is something the Agria team and I are incredibly passionate about. Their funding of so many critical, life-changing projects makes the biggest difference to the health and welfare of dogs, and the people around them.
"From research into canine health issues, to support for assistance organisations, to tireless work in the rescue and welfare sectors – we know that every penny does so much good. We’re very grateful for everything they do to help so much.”
The donation for 2021 was presented by Vicki to Rose Smart and Jenifer Milard from the KCCT in the form of a dog-friendly cake, which Poppy, an assistance dog from Service Dogs UK, was especially keen on!
